Students come away with a printed and pieced 20" x 50" table runner ready to quilt. Kit purchase of $20 includes silk screen, squeegee, printing ink and pattern.
Still stuck piecing tumbling blocks by hand? This strip-pieced tumbling block table topper gives vibrantly coloured fabrics the spotlight framed with a classy black border. Students challenge themselves to choose 3 distinct values for 5 different colours of fabric. The shopping for this class is so fun! This uniquely shaped quilt finishes at approximately 30” x 34” in size. Beg, borrow or buy – a 60 degree ruler is required for this class. Some cutting and piecing is required in advance of this class. Pattern fee of $8.00.
Looking for a gift for a little one? This class is great for quilters of any level. Hitting on the latest trend of simple techniques with modern pops of colour on white, we start with a morning of crazy quilting with a simple sew and fold - no pattern, no piecing technique. Quilters work to balance colour vs. white throughout the quilt. By the afternoon students will quilt the layers and master a simple fold over binding with a perfect mitred corner. This carry along baby quilt finishes at 24" x 32".
Add a strong warm colour palette to the walls of your home with this 17"H x 26"W radiant landscape fibre art quilt. Students will get a brief overview of colour theory. They'll tackle the simple freestyle Bargello-look technique and then quilt the background before preparing the fusible backed tree. (Beware - some intricate cutting, but it's well worth it!) On day 2 it's a cutting and fusing frenzy as students learn the ins and outs of transferring a sketch to fusible appliqué to create the tree feature. To finish there is a black on black introduction to straight stitch or free motion quilting.

This class gets you to pull out all of your precious scraps and play with colour. Watch the patterns weave in and out with gorgeous simplicity adding fibre, embellishments and fancy stitches along the way. Students finish this workshop with an art piece complete and ready to hang on the wall.
Wine Bottle Bags with Fibre Art Techniques! This beginner class is great for newbies to fibre art as well as advanced students who want to explore their creative side. This class starts out with a simple lesson on bag construction and eases into 3-5 creative ways to adorn your gift bag with fibre art. The day will include techiniques such as paint sticks, dissolving stabilizer, foil, felt, landscapes, art trees and more. With dozens of art processes to choose from, your guild can cater this class to suit their needs. Students explore new art products and come away with 3 or more finished bags, depending on their motivation, that are ready for gift giving on any occasion. FQ friendly!
Join Brandy Lynn for a day of healing through stitch. We’ll explore words, phrases, or even a small poem about what you do in life that heals you most and incorporate that into a take home fibre art piece. You’ll learn couching, hand stitches, beading and how to mount a small piece as fibre art. The gentle motion and creative freedom of stitching, beading and design will leave you feeling as though you’ve had a creative healing retreat right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of your daily life.
This is such a fun and easy intro to curved piecing! If you’ve never tried it, this is the class for you. Cutting fabric in advance is required for this class. We start off the morning with some easy 4 patch piecing and then tackling those giant curves before lunch. In the afternoon, you will learn the strippy blocks rounding out all 3 techniques that you need to assemble the quilt top. Pattern fee discounted to $8.00 for students.
Celebrate Canada's rich heritage with a contemporary take on the Canadian maple leaf. In this beginner quilting class quilters learn the basics of rotary cutting, precision piecing and half square triangles and then enjoy a day of piecing to their heart's content. This workshop gives students plenty of time to ask questions and learn how to follow a simple pattern. Intermediate quilt groups can work this class into a single day and finish the project at home or take on the challenge of designing a colourwash maple leaf to increase the difficulty level.
Dive into your stash and start exploring! In this beginner fibre art class you will learn how to choose a monochromatic colour scheme with a light, medium and dark of the same colour plus black. You will choose fabrics you absolutely love to create your first fibre art piece to hang in your home. We will learn the basics of colour, quilt as you go, balance in design, and master the finishing technique of facing.
